Canes win in 10 over Mill Creek

The Purple Hurricanes took a win from the Mill Creek Hawks the largest public school in the state from the highest classification in Georgia High School sports (AAAAA). Final score 3 2 in a comeback. Down 1 in the bottom of the tenth Taylor Hightower earned a walk. Patrick Boling bunted the courtesy runner Wes Dobson to 2nd and reached safely on an errant throw to 2nd trying to get the lead runner Dobson. Parker Rutledge then sac bunted the runners to 2nd and 3rd. Eric Shumate was inserted to run for Boling at 2nd. Adam Thurman struck out swinging bringing Cole Payne to the plate. Payne hit a shot to 3rd with 2 strikes that hit off the third basemans shin easily scoring Dobson on contact and a hustling Shumate for the 3rd and winning run.

The Canes travel to Brookwood saturday for a 1pm start.

(The Canes Freshman beat Mill Creeks Freshman at the same time Friday night. Hunter Horton got the win for the Canes. Sam Howard pitched middle relief with Ben Dittmer earning the save. Offensively the Canes were lead by Luke Daniel (catcher) 1 for 3 with a double with 2 rbis and scored twice.).
